Daniel Booker
Pastoral Liaison

Daniel Booker joined the COV Board as its Pastoral Liaison in 2017. In this capacity, he offers program evaluations and insight directly to the Executive Director, acts as an advocate for COV, and ensures open lines of communication between COV and other ministries of Bethany Covenant Church. Bringing with him 18 years of ministry experience, Daniel’s innate passion for and dedication to service have provided the COV Board with an elevated level of connection to the children and families they serve.

As a man of faith, Daniel is compelled to serve those in need of additional familial support. His short-term goal for COV is to expand its reach so that it can positively impact more students. In doing so, he would like to see COV continue developing programs that meet the unique needs of each student while also providing leadership and development opportunities for staff and volunteers.

Outside of his Board position, Daniel serves as the Children & Family Pastor at Bethany Covenant Church in Mount Vernon. He has been an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church since 2012 and has served in various youth, children, and family ministries since 2001. His experiences have included serving underserved youth on staff at the YMCA and serving at a residential based treatment facility for youth in the juvenile corrections system.

Daniel obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Carthage College and his Master of Arts in Christian Formation, specializing in Adult & Family Ministry from North Park Theological Seminary.

In his free-time, Daniel enjoys listening to and playing music; he plays percussion, but not as often as he’d prefer. He also enjoys hiking and photography. Daniel resides with his wife of 14 years, Anne, and two sons, Miles and Ezra.

Together, we can make a difference.

Since 2006, Children of the Valley has been at the forefront of local efforts to ensure that children in need are given equal opportunity to learn, feel supported, and thrive in all aspects of their young lives.

We believe that every action taken on behalf of these children - positive word-of-mouth, donation, sponsorship, or volunteer hours - starts a ripple of change that reaches far and wide. It is our goal to positively impact the lives of the children and families we serve, creating a better future for us all.
