Judith Robinson

Secretary

When you meet someone and her favorite quote reads, “Blessed to be a blessing,” you know you are dealing with a beautiful soul. In this instance, we’re speaking of COV’s Secretary of the Board, Judith H. Robinson, who has held this position since June 2014. In this role, her primary responsibilities include recording and distributing monthly Board meeting minutes, but she is also a member of the COV Strategic Planning Committee where she assisted the committee chair with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

As a retired elementary school teacher, Judith felt an immediate calling to support the COV cause since becoming acquainted with the organization in 2006. It was a calling that first found her volunteering with the after-school program, then choosing to serve on the Board of Directors. Her short-range goals for COV include the addition of kindergarteners into the program, enhancing COV’s presence within the local community, and expanding services by opening an additional site to better serve the children of our valley.

For 25 years, Judith was an elementary teacher, teaching kindergarten, gifted pull-out program, and elementary music. She received her B.A. in English and Elementary Education from North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. She is currently affiliated with Bethany Covenant Church and is Founder of the Neighborhood Book Club. Her personal hobbies include vocal music, choir music, baking, reading, line dancing, and viticulture; she and her husband, Don, have a small vineyard.

Judith resides in Skagit Valley with her husband, has three grown children, and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Together, we can make a difference.

Since 2006, Children of the Valley has been at the forefront of local efforts to ensure that children in need are given equal opportunity to learn, feel supported, and thrive in all aspects of their young lives. We believe that every action taken on behalf of these children – positive word-of-mouth, donation, sponsorship, or volunteer hours – starts a ripple of change that reaches far and wide. It is our goal to positively impact the lives of the children and families we serve, creating a better future for us all.
