Carmen Anderson Bruner

Director

With 35 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience, Carmen Anderson Bruner has held a COV Board position first as its Treasurer and now in a director/advisory role where she offers Governance oversight.

As a long-standing Skagit Valley resident with a strong family connection to the Mount Vernon School District, Carmen has long felt a commitment to and passion for the education of local children which led her to the shared cause at COV.

Carmen spent more than 35 years as a self-employed bookkeeper, with certificates in accounting from the National Society of Public Accounts. She is dedicated to the betterment of the Skagit Valley and has been affiliated with numerous service organizations over the years, including Tierra Nueva (past Board member), New Earth Recovery, and Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation. Carmen is also a graduate of Leadership Skagit.

In her free-time, Carmen can be found enjoying a good book, running, and shopping. Her number one priority is family which includes her husband, Carl, five children, and six grandchildren.

Together, we can make a difference.

Since 2006, Children of the Valley has been at the forefront of local efforts to ensure that children in need are given equal opportunity to learn, feel supported, and thrive in all aspects of their young lives. We believe that every action taken on behalf of these children – positive word-of-mouth, donation, sponsorship, or volunteer hours – starts a ripple of change that reaches far and wide. It is our goal to positively impact the lives of the children and families we serve, creating a better future for us all.
