Volunteers must be 16 years or older and pass a background check. Applications are available at the COV office 1318 S. 18th Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or on the website. See the downloadable application at bottom of this page!

Ways to Volunteer

Homework & Reading- Tutor-assist children with 20 minutes of reading and homework         

Mon-Thur 5:00-6:00pm  Fri 3:00-4:00pm


Snack Preparation-     

Help prepare the children’s snack                 

Mon-Fri 2:30-5:00pm


Lead or Assist in an enrichment project, arts and crafts 

Lead or Assist in recreational/sports activities

Van Driver-assist driving children home- Mon-Fri 6:00-6:45pm

Snack Shopper-assist in purchasing snack for the week- Mondays

Substitute-this person would be on call and provide back up when a volunteer is unable to make their scheduled time.

Volunteers are able to choose which days and times that work best for them each week.

How do I get Involved?

Volunteers must be 16 years old and over the age of 18, must pass a Washington State and Federal Background Check. Volunteer applications are available online or in the COV Office.
