HOW IT ALL GOT STARTED
Art Auction History
Each year, COV students work on a project called "My Roots." While much of their time is spent working on reading and homework, it's equally important that children are in touch with their emotions and identity. This project is a way for each child to explore, connect with, and honor their unique background. Part of the project includes drawing a self-portrait, which is how the art auction got started (16 years ago!) By auctioning artwork from COV students, we have been able to raise awareness of the program in addition to the funds needed to expand and serve more children.
